About the Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 is Nintendos next-generation hybrid console, announced in 2025. It features a larger 8-inch 1080p LCD display, a new NVIDIA custom processor for significantly improved performance, and redesigned magnetic-attach Joy-Con 2 controllers with Hall Effect analog sticks designed to resist drift. The dock supports 4K output via HDMI 2.1, and the console includes 256GB of internal storage with microSD Express expansion. We repair every component at our Perth Road workshop in Dundee.
As a newly released console, common early issues include screen damage (the larger 8-inch display is more exposed), charging port wear from frequent docking, software glitches, Joy-Con connection issues with the new magnetic attachment system, and overheating under demanding games. The Hall Effect sticks should resist drift better than previous generations, but the new magnetic Joy-Con mechanism introduces new potential failure points. The Hall Effect analog sticks are designed to resist drift, but early reports suggest they are not completely immune. If yours starts drifting, bring it in and we will take a look.

My Switch 2 Joy-Con is not connecting magnetically. Can you fix that?
The magnetic attachment system is new and we are still learning its failure modes. Bring it in to our Perth Road workshop and we will diagnose the issue.
Is it worth getting a Switch 2 repaired or should I use the warranty?
If it is still under Nintendos warranty, that may be the best route. If the warranty has expired or does not cover the issue, we offer competitive repair pricing. We will advise honestly.
Can you fix overheating on the Switch 2?
Aye, overheating can be caused by thermal paste degradation, fan issues, or dust buildup. We can diagnose and fix the root cause at our Dundee workshop.
