What We Stock
Devia 15W Magnetic Wireless Charger (Smart Series). Snaps magnetically onto the back of your iPhone (12 onwards) for perfect alignment every time. Charges at up to 15W with Qi wireless charging support. The magnetic grip holds your phone securely even if you pick up the charger with the phone attached. Works with MagSafe cases and MagSafe-compatible accessories.
For Android phones that support wireless charging, this charger works as a standard Qi pad at up to 10W. Place your phone flat on it and it charges. No magnets needed on the Android side, just correct placement on the pad.

We also stock wireless charging car mounts from Devia that combine a phone holder with a Qi wireless charger. Your phone clips into the mount and charges while you drive. See our car mount page for details on those.

Qi, MagSafe, Qi2: What’s the Difference?
Three wireless charging standards, and they’re all related. Here’s the simple version:
Qi (pronounced “chee”). The original wireless charging standard. Works with most phones from the last 5 to 6 years. You place your phone on a flat charging pad and it charges via electromagnetic induction. No magnets, so you need to position the phone carefully on the pad for it to work. If it’s off-centre, charging slows down or stops. Charges at 5W to 10W depending on the phone.
MagSafe. Apple’s version of wireless charging for iPhone 12 onwards. Uses a ring of magnets inside the phone to snap onto a matching ring in the charger. The magnets ensure perfect alignment every time, so you don’t have to fiddle with positioning. Charges iPhones at up to 15W. MagSafe is Apple’s proprietary system, so full 15W speed requires an Apple-certified charger.
Qi2. The newest open standard, launched in 2025. Essentially MagSafe’s magnetic alignment concept made into a universal standard that works with both iPhones and Android phones. Charges at up to 15W with magnetic alignment. Samsung Galaxy S25 and S26, Google Pixel 10, and OnePlus 13 all support Qi2. This is where wireless charging is heading: one standard, magnets, all phones.
The Devia charger we stock is MagSafe-compatible and supports standard Qi charging. It works with all iPhones from iPhone 8 onwards (magnetically with iPhone 12+) and with Qi-compatible Android phones.
The practical takeaway: if you have an iPhone 12 or newer, a magnetic charger is brilliant. If you have an older iPhone or an Android phone, a flat Qi pad works fine. Either way, you’re covered.
Which Phones Support Wireless Charging?
Quick reference:
- iPhone 8 and newer: all support Qi wireless charging
- iPhone 12 and newer: support MagSafe magnetic charging (faster, magnetic alignment)
- Samsung Galaxy S6 and newer: most support Qi wireless charging
- Samsung Galaxy S25/S26: support Qi2 magnetic charging
- Google Pixel 3 and newer: support Qi wireless charging
- Google Pixel 10: supports Qi2
- OnePlus, Huawei, Xiaomi: varies by model. Flagship models usually support it, budget models often don’t
If your phone isn’t on this list or you’re not sure, bring it in and we’ll check. We can test it on the charger in the shop before you buy. Takes two seconds to find out.
Worth noting: wireless charging doesn’t work on phones with metal backs (some older budget Android phones). The phone needs a glass or plastic back for the electromagnetic field to pass through. Most phones from the last few years have glass backs specifically to support wireless charging.
Does It Work Through a Case?
Yes, with some caveats.
Thin cases (under 3mm): wireless charging works fine. Silicone, plastic, leather, and TPU cases all let the electromagnetic field through without issues. Most standard phone cases fall into this category.
MagSafe cases: designed specifically for magnetic wireless charging. The case has its own magnet ring that aligns with the phone’s internal magnets and the charger’s magnets. Perfect alignment, full speed, secure grip. If you’re buying a magnetic wireless charger, a MagSafe case is the best pairing.
Thick rugged cases (over 4mm): can block or slow wireless charging. The extra distance between the charger and the phone’s internal coil weakens the electromagnetic field. Some heavy-duty cases from brands like OtterBox Defender are thick enough to interfere. You might need to remove the case to charge.
Metal cases or cases with metal plates: will block wireless charging entirely. Metal disrupts the electromagnetic field. If you’ve stuck a metal plate inside your case for a magnetic car mount, that plate will block wireless charging too. MagSafe-compatible metal rings are designed to avoid this problem.
PopSockets and ring holders: if they’re attached to the back of your phone in the centre, they can prevent the phone from sitting flat on a charging pad. Magnetic chargers work better here because they snap onto the back of the phone regardless of what’s stuck to it.
Not sure if your case works? Bring your phone in its case and we’ll test it on the charger before you buy.
Will Wireless Charging Damage My Battery?
This is the most common question we get about wireless charging. Short answer: no. Wireless charging doesn’t damage your battery any more than wired charging does.
The concern folk have is about heat. Wireless charging does generate slightly more heat than wired charging because the energy transfer through electromagnetic induction isn’t 100% efficient. Some energy is lost as warmth. But modern phones and quality chargers manage this heat with built-in temperature sensors that throttle the charging speed if things get too warm.
Is it safe to charge overnight? Aye. Modern phones stop drawing power when they reach 100%. The charger doesn’t keep pushing electricity into a full battery. iPhone and Samsung both have battery optimisation features that learn your routine and slow charging overnight to reduce heat and preserve battery health. Your phone might charge to 80% quickly, then trickle the last 20% slowly over the night.
Does it charge slower than a cable? Yes, but for most use cases that doesn’t matter. A 15W wireless charger charges your phone from flat in about 2 to 3 hours. A 30W wired charger does it in about 1 hour. For overnight charging or desk charging during the workday, wireless is plenty fast. For quick top-ups when you’re in a hurry, a wired fast charger is better.
Does it wear out the charging port? This is actually an argument FOR wireless charging. Every time you plug in and unplug a cable, you put mechanical stress on the charging port. Over years of daily use, ports wear out. Wireless charging eliminates that wear entirely. If you charge wirelessly at home and at your desk, you only use the cable when you’re travelling. Your port lasts longer.
Desk, Bedside, or Car?
Desk charging. The most popular use case. Keep a wireless charger on your desk and set your phone on it whenever you’re working. Your phone stays topped up all day without you thinking about it. No cable to plug in, no cable cluttering your desk. Just pick up your phone when it rings and set it back down when you’re done.
Bedside charging. Drop your phone on the charger when you go to bed. No fumbling with cables in the dark. Some wireless chargers have a built-in stand that holds your phone upright so you can see the clock or notifications without picking it up. Better than laying it flat if you use your phone as an alarm clock.
Car charging. Wireless charging car mounts combine a phone holder with a Qi charger. Your phone clips into the mount and charges while you navigate. No cable dangling from the dashboard. We stock Devia wireless charging car mounts that handle this.
Kitchen or workshop. If you work in a kitchen, workshop, or any environment where your hands are often dirty or wet, wireless charging means you never touch a cable with messy hands. Just set the phone down. This is surprisingly popular with folk who cook a lot or work with their hands.
Why Buy In-Store
Not sure if your phone supports wireless charging? Not sure if your case blocks it? We’ll test it right there in the shop. Set your phone on the charger and see if it works before you spend anything.
We can also advise on which charger suits how you’ll use it. A magnetic charger for your desk is different from a flat pad for your bedside table. A car mount charger is different again. We’ll match you with the right one.
If your phone doesn’t support wireless charging (some budget Android models), we’ll tell you before you buy something that won’t work. We’d rather lose a sale than have you walk out with a product that’s useless for your phone.
While you’re in, we also stock charging cables, charger plugs, power banks, and screen protectors. 153 Perth Road, Monday to Friday 9:30 to 17:30, Saturday 10 to 17. Nae appointment needed.

Call UsWireless Charger Questions
Does my phone support wireless charging?
Most phones from the last few years support Qi wireless charging. That includes iPhone 8 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S6 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and many other Android phones. If you’re not sure, bring your phone in and we’ll check for you. Takes two seconds.
How fast is wireless charging compared to a cable?
Standard Qi wireless charging tops out at about 7.5W for iPhones and 10W for most Androids, which is slower than a cable. MagSafe pushes 15W on newer iPhones, and some Samsung chargers hit 15W too. It’s not as fast as wired fast-charging, but for overnight or desk charging, the convenience makes up for it.
What’s the difference between MagSafe and Qi?
Qi is the universal wireless charging standard that works with almost any phone. MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic system for iPhone 12 and newer. It snaps into place with magnets so your phone aligns perfectly every time. MagSafe charges iPhones faster (15W vs 7.5W on standard Qi) but only works with iPhones.
How much do wireless chargers cost?
Basic Qi charging pads start from around ten to fifteen pounds and work perfectly well for everyday use. MagSafe chargers and premium stands run from twenty to forty pounds. Multi-device stations that charge your phone, earbuds and watch together are typically thirty to sixty pounds. We stock options across all price ranges. Nae need to break the bank.
Can I use a case with a wireless charger?
Aye, most phone cases work fine with wireless charging as long as they’re not too thick. Cases under 3mm are usually grand. Metal cases or cases with metal plates (like magnetic car mount plates) will block wireless charging completely. If you’re unsure about your case, bring it in and we’ll test it on the spot.
Do you sell multi-device wireless charging stations?
Aye, we stock multi-device charging stations that can handle your phone, earbuds and smartwatch all at once. They’re brilliant for bedside tables or desks. The good ones have separate coils so each device charges at full speed rather than sharing power.
What brands of wireless charger do you stock?
We carry a range of trusted brands including Anker, Samsung, Belkin and others. We pick chargers that actually work well rather than just stocking whatever’s cheapest. If there’s a specific brand you’re after, give us a ring and we’ll let you know if we’ve got it in.
Can I test a wireless charger with my phone before I buy?
Absolutely. Bring your phone into the shop and we’ll let you try it with the charger before you hand over any cash. That way you know it works with your phone and your case. Nae surprises when you get home.
