Webcam Sales Dundee
Need a webcam? HD webcams for video calls, meetings, and streaming. In stock at our Perth Road shop. Plug in and you’re live.
Why You Need a Webcam
Got a Teams call in an hour and no webcam? Or is your laptop camera so grainy that colleagues think you’re calling from 2005? We stock HD webcams at our Perth Road shop. Walk in, grab one, plug it into your laptop or desktop, and you’re ready for your next video call.
If you’re using a desktop computer, it doesn’t have a built-in camera. You need an external webcam for video calls, online meetings, and anything that needs your face on screen.
If you’re using a laptop, it has a built-in camera but it’s usually not great. Laptop webcams are typically 720p or low-quality 1080p. Grainy image, poor low-light performance, and a wide angle that shows more of your messy background than your face.
An external webcam gives you better image quality, better low-light performance, and usually a better microphone than your laptop’s built-in one. If you do video calls regularly for work, the difference is noticeable.
Some folk cover their laptop camera with tape for privacy. An external webcam with a privacy shutter gives you physical privacy when you’re not on a call without sticky tape residue on your screen.
What We Stock
We carry HD webcams suitable for video calls, online meetings, and general use. 1080p resolution with built-in microphones. Plug and play via USB. No special software needed. Just plug it in, open your video call app, and select the webcam.
Most of our webcams clip onto the top of your monitor or laptop screen. Adjustable angle so you can position it at eye level.
We stock webcams at different price points. Budget options for occasional calls, mid-range for daily use. All better than a built-in laptop camera.
Setting Up a Webcam
Plug the USB cable into your computer. That’s it. Windows and Mac both recognise webcams automatically. No drivers to install, no software to download.
In your video call app (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet), go to settings and select the external webcam as your camera. Most apps detect it automatically.
Position the webcam at eye level on top of your monitor. If it’s too low (on the desk) or too high, you’ll be looking down or up rather than straight at the camera. Eye level gives the best angle for video calls.
If you need help setting it up, bring your laptop in and we’ll do it for you in the shop.
Why Buy In-Store

You can also see the build quality and size in person. Some webcams are bulkier than you’d expect from photos.
