What We Stock
Need to move some files between computers? Print a document at the library? Hand a presentation to a colleague? A USB flash drive is the simplest way to carry files in your pocket. We stock them at our Perth Road shop. Walk in and grab one.
We carry USB flash drives in different capacities. 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Small enough to fit on a keyring, big enough to hold thousands of documents or hundreds of photos.
We stock drives with USB-A connectors (the standard rectangular plug that fits any computer) and USB-C connectors (for newer laptops and phones). Some drives have both connectors so you can use them with any device.
All our drives are plug and play. No software to install, no formatting needed. Plug it in, drag your files across, pull it out. Simple.
USB-A vs USB-C Flash Drives
Most desktop computers and older laptops have USB-A ports. The standard rectangular connector that’s been around for decades. If your computer has full-size USB ports, a USB-A flash drive is what you need.
Newer laptops (MacBooks, Dell XPS, modern ThinkPads) may only have USB-C ports. If that’s your situation, get a USB-C flash drive or a dual-connector drive that has both USB-A and USB-C on the same stick.
Dual-connector drives are handy if you use multiple computers with different ports. One drive that works everywhere.
If you’re not sure what ports your computer has, bring it in and we’ll check.
How Much Storage Do You Need
64GB is the sweet spot for most folk. Enough for presentations, documents, music, and a good chunk of photos. If you’re buying one to keep in your bag for general use, 32GB covers most situations.
64GB-128GB if you’re moving large files like videos, design files, or software installers. Or if you want to carry a big music or photo library around.
For really large files or regular backups, an external hard drive or SSD is better. Flash drives are for portability and convenience, not mass storage.
Why Buy In-Store
Flash drives are a “need it now” purchase. You’ve got files to move today, not tomorrow. Walk in, pick the size you need, and you’re sorted in two minutes.
We can also format it for your specific needs if required, or help you check what size files you need to carry if you’re not sure how much space to get.
