The iPad 8th Gen (A2270, A2428, A2429, A2430) was released in 2020 as the Neural Engine iPad with A12 Bionic power. It features an 10.2-inch 2160x1620 Retina display powered by the Apple A12 Bionic chip. The jump to A12 Bionic brought the Neural Engine to the entry-level iPad, enabling machine learning features and significantly improved performance. We repair every component at our Perth Road workshop in Dundee.
Common iPad 8th Gen repairs include cracked display glass, Touch ID malfunction, Lightning port issues, and battery degradation. How much does it cost to fix a cracked iPad 8th Gen screen?
The iPad 8th Gen has a non-laminated display, which means the glass digitizer and LCD are separate layers. If only the glass is cracked and the LCD underneath is fine, a glass-only repair is possible, which keeps costs down. Drap it in to our Perth Road workshop for a diagnostic and we'll give you an accurate quote.
How do I know if my iPad 8th Gen battery needs replacing?
If your iPad 8th Gen is draining faster than it used to, shutting down unexpectedly, or the back is starting to bulge slightly, the battery likely needs replacing. iPads dinnae show battery health percentage like iPhones do, but we can run a diagnostic at our Perth Road workshop to check the cycle count and capacity. Nae obligation - just drap it in.
My iPad 8th Gen won't charge properly - can you fix that?
Aye, charging issues are one of the most common iPad 8th Gen problems we see. It's usually the Lightning port getting clogged with pocket lint and dust, or the port itself wearing out from years of plugging and unplugging. Sometimes a good clean sorts it, other times the port needs replacing. Either way, bring it in and we'll have a look - we ken whit we're daein with Lightning repairs.
My iPad 8th Gen Touch ID stopped working - can you fix it?
Touch ID on the iPad 8th Gen is paired to the logic board at the factory, so the actual sensor button cannae be swapped for a new one without losing fingerprint functionality. However, if Touch ID stopped working after a drop or another issue, there might be a flex cable or connection problem we can fix. Drap it in and we'll diagnose it properly - nae charge for the honest answer.
How do I know if my iPad is an iPad 8th Gen?
