The iPhone 13 (models A2482, A2631, A2633, A2634) refined the iPhone 12's flat-edged design with meaningful upgrades when it arrived in September 2021. The A15 Bionic chip brought more processing power and better energy efficiency, the dual 12MP camera gained sensor-shift OIS from the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the diagonal camera arrangement became the 13's visual signature. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display got brighter at 800 nits typical, and the notch got 20% smaller. Battery life improved significantly too, with the larger 3227 mAh cell lasting around 2.5 hours longer than the 12. Cinematic Mode brought rack-focus video to everyone.
