About the iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone 7 Plus (models A1661, A1784, A1785) was the first iPhone with a dual camera system, a 12MP wide-angle lens paired with a 12MP telephoto for 2x optical zoom and that creamy Portrait Mode bokeh effect that everybody was after. Released in September 2016 alongside the iPhone 7, it packed the same A10 Fusion chip into a 5.5-inch body with IP67 water resistance and stereo speakers. The 2900 mAh battery was a proper workhorse, and like its smaller sibling, it ditched the headphone jack in favour of Lightning audio. The iPhone 7 Plus is one of the more complex older iPhones to repair thanks to that dual camera system, but our West End workshop has the experience to handle it. Can you fix the dual camera on my iPhone 7 Plus?
Aye, we can replace the dual camera module or individual lens components if only one is faulty. If Portrait Mode has stopped working but normal photos are fine, it is usually just the telephoto lens. Drap it in and we'll diagnose which module needs swapping.
Does the iPhone 7 Plus have the same audio IC problem as the iPhone 7?
It can, aye, though it is slightly less common on the Plus. The same chip is used on both models. If you have lost call audio or the speaker icon is greyed out, bring it to our Perth Road workshop for a Full diagnosis.
How long does an iPhone 7 Plus screen replacement take?
About 45 minutes. The 5.5-inch display is a bit more involved than the standard 7 due to the larger size and extra components. We can usually do it while you wait at our Dundee workshop.
My iPhone 7 Plus battery health is below 80% - should I replace it?
Below 80% means iOS may be throttling your phone's performance to prevent unexpected shutdowns. A battery replacement will restore full speed and give you proper all-day battery life again. Quick job at our Perth Road shop.
Can you replace the home button on an iPhone 7 Plus?
We can replace the button assembly so it works for navigation, but Touch ID is paired to the original button and cannae be transferred. We'll explain all this before starting. The Taptic Engine feedback will still work with a replacement button.
