About the iPhone X
The iPhone X (models A1865, A1901, A1902) was the most radical redesign in iPhone history when it arrived in November 2017 to mark the iPhone's 10th anniversary. Apple killed the home button, introduced Face ID facial recognition, and wrapped a stunning 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display edge to edge around the front of the device. The A11 Bionic chip powered everything from Animoji to augmented reality, and the dual 12MP camera system brought Portrait Mode with Portrait Lighting to the smaller-sized iPhone for the first time. The surgical-grade stainless steel frame and glass back made it feel properly premium. It set the template that every iPhone since has followed. The iPhone X marked the beginning of Apple's modern iPhone era, and we still see plenty of them at our West End shop. The OLED display is gorgeous but it is more expensive to replace than the LCD panels in older iPhones, and it can develop a green line fault, a vertical green stripe that appears on the screen, caused by a display driver failure. Three model variants were produced: A1865 for North America with CDMA and GSM support, A1901 for international GSM markets including Europe, and A1902 for specific Asian markets. The key difference is that A1865 included CDMA band support while A1901 was GSM-only. All three use the same screens, batteries, and internal components.

What is the green line fault on the iPhone X?
The green line is a vertical stripe of green pixels that appears on the OLED display, caused by a display driver failure. It can appear suddenly even without physical damage. A screen replacement with a quality OLED panel fixes it. Drap it into our Perth Road workshop and we'll sort it.
Can you fix Face ID on my iPhone X?
In many cases, aye. Face ID depends on the TrueDepth camera system at the top of the phone. If the front camera assembly is damaged, we can replace it. However, if the secure enclave or dot projector is faulty, Face ID may not be restorable. We'll diagnose it properly.
How much does an iPhone X screen replacement cost in Dundee?

My iPhone X battery health is at 75% - should I replace it?
At 75% you are definitely experiencing shorter battery life and possible performance throttling. A battery replacement will bring it back to full capacity and speed. It is a quick job at our Dundee workshop - well worth doing if the rest of the phone is in good shape.
Does the iPhone X still get iOS updates?
The iPhone X topped out at iOS 16. That is excellent support for a 2017 device. Most apps still work fine and Apple pushes security patches. It remains a very capable phone for everyday use.
Can you replace the back glass on an iPhone X?
Aye. The back glass on the X is bonded to the frame and traditionally requires a full housing replacement. We can handle this at our Perth Road workshop. It is a bigger job but we'll give you a fair price before starting.
