The iPhone XR (models A1984, A2105, A2106, A2107, A2108) brought Apple's all-screen Face ID design to a much wider audience when it launched in October 2018. Instead of the OLED panel on the pricier XS, the XR used a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD, Apple's most advanced LCD ever built, with True Tone, wide colour gamut, and tap-to-wake. The A12 Bionic chip was blazing fast, and the single 12MP camera used computational photography to deliver Portrait Mode without a second lens. Why is my iPhone XR screen not as sharp as newer iPhones?
The XR uses a Liquid Retina LCD display at 326 ppi, while newer Pro models use Super Retina XDR OLED at higher densities. The LCD is still a quality panel and has the advantage of being more affordable to replace if cracked. Visit our Perth Road workshop for a screen replacement.
Can you fix Face ID on my iPhone XR?
In most cases, aye. Face ID relies on the TrueDepth camera system. If the front camera or sensors are damaged, we can often replace the assembly and restore Face ID. We'll diagnose it properly at our Dundee shop - nae fix, nae fee.
