About the iPhone XS
The iPhone XS (models A1920, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2100) refined the revolutionary iPhone X design with meaningful upgrades when it launched in September 2018. The 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display got wider stereo sound, improved Face ID speed, and IP68 water resistance, a step up from the X's IP67 rating. The A12 Bionic chip introduced Apple's first Neural Engine, powering Smart HDR photography and real-time machine learning. The dual 12MP camera system gained larger pixels and improved sensor performance for noticeably better low-light photos. Gold was added as a third colour option alongside Silver and Space Grey. The iPhone XS is a premium device that still feels genuinely high-end in the hand, and we see steady repair demand at our DD2 1AR workshop. The stainless steel frame is tough, but both the front and back are glass and can crack from drops. OLED screen replacements are the most common repair, followed by battery swaps as cells degrade past the 80% health mark. The XS can develop the same green line display fault as the iPhone X, a vertical stripe of green pixels caused by a display driver failure. Can you fix the green line fault on my iPhone XS?
Aye - the green line is a vertical stripe caused by a display driver failure in the OLED panel. A screen replacement with a quality OLED display fixes it completely. Drap it into our Perth Road workshop and we'll get it sorted.
How much does an iPhone XS screen replacement cost in Dundee?

My iPhone XS Face ID has stopped working - can you fix it?
Often aye. Face ID relies on the TrueDepth camera array. If the sensors are damaged from a drop, we can replace the assembly. If the dot projector or secure enclave is the issue, it may not be restorable - we'll diagnose it properly and give you honest advice.
Is the iPhone XS still supported with iOS updates?
The XS runs iOS 17, which is excellent for a 2018 device. Most apps work perfectly and Apple provides security updates. With the A12 Bionic chip, it still handles everyday tasks without any lag.
Can you replace the battery in my iPhone XS?

Minor cracks usually do not affect wireless charging, but severe damage can disrupt the charging coil connection. Either way, a cracked back should be sorted before moisture gets inside. We offer full housing replacements at our Perth Road workshop.
