The MacBook Air Retina 13" A2179 (2020) brought the long-awaited scissor keyboard to the MacBook Air, replacing the troublesome butterfly mechanism. With model number A2179, it kept the T2 chip, Touch ID, and Retina display while adding improved thermal performance and Ice Lake processors.
