About the MacBook Pro 13″ A1706 (2017) (Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)
The MacBook Pro 13" A1706 (2017) (Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) was part of Apple's USB-C MacBook Pro generation with model number A1706. It featured a Touch Bar, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, and the butterfly keyboard that caused so many problems. We repair every component at our Perth Road workshop in Dundee.
The butterfly keyboard is the single biggest repair issue on this generation. Keys fail, stick, or double-type constantly. Touch Bar failure is also common, along with battery swelling, Thunderbolt port problems, and the flexgate display cable issue (a cable that wears out from opening and closing the lid). Our technicians have over 20 years' combined experience.
The butterfly keyboard era was rough, but these are still good machines underneath. Drap it in to Perth Road and we'll sort whatever is wrong.
This model was available in multiple processor and storage configurations. All share the same internal hardware and accept identical replacement parts.
