About the Xbox Series X
The Xbox Series X (model 1882) launched in November 2020 as Microsoft's flagship current-generation console. It delivers true native 4K gaming at up to 120fps with hardware ray tracing, powered by a custom AMD Zen 2 CPU and a 12 TFLOP RDNA 2 GPU with 16GB GDDR6 memory. The tower design with top-mounted fan and vapor chamber cooling was built for sustained high performance. A 2024 refresh added a 2TB option and an all-digital variant. We repair every component at our Perth Road workshop in Dundee.
The Series X is the most powerful Xbox ever made, and that power generates heat. Vapor chamber cooling failure, thermal paste degradation, and dust buildup are the most common issues. HDMI 2.1 port damage, disc drive failures (on the disc model), and power faults also come through our workshop. The tower design means the console must have clear airflow around the top vent. Our technicians have over 20 years' combined experience.
The Series X is an absolute powerhouse. 12 teraflops in a tower. If yours is running hot, crashing, or the HDMI has gone, drap it in to our Perth Road workshop. We will get it sorted.
The Xbox Series X ships as model 1882 in disc (standard) and all-digital variants. A 2TB Galaxy Black special edition uses the same internals. All models share identical cooling, HDMI, and power components.

My Xbox Series X is overheating and shutting down. Can you fix it?
The vapor chamber cooling system needs clean airflow and good thermal paste. We rework the thermal system at our Perth Road workshop.
Can you fix the HDMI 2.1 port on my Xbox Series X?
Aye, HDMI 2.1 port replacement is precision board-level soldering. We handle this regularly for both Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
My Xbox Series X disc drive has stopped reading discs. Can you fix it?
Disc drive issues can be the laser, the drive mechanism, or a board fault. Bring it in and we will diagnose it.
My Xbox Series X fan is extremely loud. Is that normal?
