About the Nintendo Switch OLED

The Nintendo Switch OLED (HEG-001) launched in October 2021 as a premium revision of the original Switch. The headline upgrade is a vibrant 7-inch OLED display (up from 6.2-inch LCD), delivering richer colours and deeper blacks. It also gained 64GB of internal storage (doubled from 32GB), a wider adjustable stand, enhanced audio, and a dock with a wired LAN port. The console uses the same Tegra X1+ chip as the V2 Switch. We repair every component at our Perth Road workshop in Dundee.

Common Switch OLED repairs include Joy-Con stick drift (the same issue that plagued the original), cracked or damaged OLED screens (more expensive to replace than the LCD on the original Switch), charging port damage, and overheating from dust buildup. The OLED panel is a significant upgrade but also a more costly repair when it breaks. Our technicians have over 20 years combined experience and handle Switch OLED repairs regularly.

The Switch OLED screen is gorgeous but it is not cheap to replace when it cracks. If yours has taken a knock, drap it in to our Perth Road workshop. We use quality replacement panels.

The Nintendo Switch OLED shipped as a single model (HEG-001) in White and Neon Red/Blue colour options. All units share identical internal hardware regardless of colour.

Nintendo Switch OLED Repair Questions

Is the OLED screen more expensive to replace than the regular Switch?

Aye, the OLED panel costs more than the LCD on the original Switch. But the repair is still worthwhile compared to buying a new console. Gee'z a ring for the current price.

Can you fix Joy-Con drift on the Switch OLED?

Aye, same stick drift issue as the original Switch and the same fix. We replace the analog stick module in the Joy-Con.

My Switch OLED dock LAN port has stopped working. Can you fix it?

The dock is a separate unit and we can look at port issues. Bring the dock along with the console to our Perth Road workshop.

My Switch OLED fan is making a grinding noise. Is that fixable?

Aye, grinding fans usually need replacing. Dust buildup can also cause noise. We can clean or replace the fan at our Dundee workshop.

Can you transfer my save data if you need to replace the motherboard?

If you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, your cloud saves will be safe. Local saves on a failed board are harder to recover. We will advise you honestly.

How long does a Switch OLED screen replacement take?

About an hour to an hour and a half. The OLED panel requires careful handling. We will give you a realistic timeframe when you bring it in.

Switch OLED Cracked? Drap It In.

Walk-ins welcome. Most repairs done same day.
